FactCheck: Ukraine Says “Two Deadly Gifts” In Russia Firing

Ukraine Crisis: Russian missiles and shelling rained down on Ukrainian cities on Thursday after President Vladimir Putin unleashed a full-scale ground invasion and air assault.

Russian troops continued to advance in Ukraine, a day after President Vladimir Putin launched a war on the nation. Several western countries have announced sanctions against Russia and also warned of consequences for the onslaught in Ukraine.

  1. Two loud blasts were heard in the centre of Ukraine’s capital Kyiv early Friday.
  2. Ukrainian forces downed an enemy aircraft over Kyiv in the early hours of Friday, which then crashed into a residential building and set it on fire. Ukraine’s army said that Russia fired on civilian areas of Kyiv but that Ukraine’s air defence systems repelled “two deadly gifts”.
