Bangladesh: Sheikh Hasina’s Government Announces New Cabinet

The Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government has named its 36-member cabinet, which is set to take oath on Thursday. The new cabinet will consist of 25 ministers and 11 state ministers, with two technocrat ministers.

Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain announced that the new Bangladesh cabinet will consist of 36 members, including 25 ministers and 11 state ministers. Two technocrat ministers will be included in the cabinet.

The elections were held amid tensions as the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jamaat-e-Islami, and other parties boycotted the elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Hasina on her historic victory, stating that he had spoken to her and congratulated her on her victory for a historic fourth consecutive term in the Parliamentary elections.
