Bhutan launched the “ShiftBhutan Programme” to uplift and educate the country’s youth, focusing on sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and substance use disorders (SUDs). The initiative, created by Save the Children, is an innovative campaign accelerator targeting individuals aged 14 to 25.

The campaign aims to combat misconceptions and provide a safe space for genuine dialogue and enlightenment. It emphasizes bodily autonomy, consent, and understanding relationships, equipping Bhutan’s youth with tools to promote holistic interactions. The campaign also highlights the dangers of substance abuse, guiding individuals towards wiser life choices.

The unity of these diverse youth organizations demonstrates the strength gained from unity, breaking down barriers and ensuring a wider impact across Bhutan. This partnership symbolizes the strength of collective efforts in addressing social issues and projecting a nation where diversities are accepted and celebrated for positive change.

The event is a symbol of cultural transformation, with the participation of Queer Voice of Bhutan, a strong dedication to inclusion and fair representation. This effort is a laudable step towards moulding a society where the rights of every individual are given equal importance.
