Colombia Armed Forces clash with Clan del Golfo crime gang

Colombian military personnel clashed with FARC dissidents and the Clan del Golfo crime gang. At least 20 people have been killed in this conflict. Officials informed about this on Monday.

According to the Colombian military, the clash took place in the municipality of Argelia, Cauca province. It killed 12 fighters from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), a dissident group of rebels.

Dissident FARC groups have rejected a peace deal signed with the kingdom in 2016. Seven members of the Clan del Golfo, known as the Gatanista Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AGC), also died. The camp of these soldiers located in Choco province was attacked.

According to a military spokesman, Colombia’s military seized long-range weapons, ammunition and communications equipment during the attack.
