Jack Sweeney, the creator of an account that tracked Elon Musk’s private jet in real-time, has moved to Twitter-rival threads to Mark Zuckerberg’s after being suspended from Twitter last year.
“The Elonjet has arrived on the threads!” read Sweeney’s first post on Thursday from the @elonmusksjet account handle, which as of Saturday morning had more than 21,000 followers.
ElonJet has tracked the movements of Musk’s private jet using data available in the public domain.
In December Musk-owned Twitter Inc suspended the Elonjet account after the billionaire threatened legal action against the account’s operator after saying his son was mistakenly followed.
The Meta-owned threads attracted millions of users within hours, including such prominent figures as Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Democratic US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, posing a direct challenge to Twitter.
Because it wants to take advantage of its opponent’s weak position. A series of chaotic decisions from Musk.
Sweeney, Twitter and Meta did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
