German Bank Funds 22.4M Euro for Syrian Students’ Education in Jordan

Jordan and the German Development Bank have signed a $22.4-million grant agreement to support the Jordanian education sector. The aid will fund teachers’ salaries in public schools accommodating Syrian students for the academic year 2023/2024.

The Jordanian Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation stated that the grant is part of the German government’s commitment to accelerate the education of Syrian refugee children. Germany is Jordan’s second-largest donor country.
