Incessant rains and floods have worsened the economic situation of Pakistan. At least 76 people have died and 133 injured in the country so far due to heavy rains.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), ARY has said in its report that 9 people died and 8 were injured due to heavy rains in the last 24 hours. Among the 76 people killed so far, 15 women and 31 children are included. 78 houses have been damaged due to rain.
Heavy rains and floods have affected Punjab province the most, where 48 people have been killed. 20 people were reported dead in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 5 in Balochistan.
18 people were killed in Punjab province on July 6. The Pakistan Meteorological Department had predicted the first monsoon rains in the country between July 3-8. The Meteorological Department says that due to the rain, landslides may occur in the hilly areas and flooding may occur in the low-lying areas.
