Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav has suffered a major setback, Before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, SP MLA Dara Singh Chauhan resigned from the membership of the assembly.

Dara Singh Chauhan’s resignation has been accepted by Speaker Satish Mahana. There is a possibility that former minister Dara Singh may join the Bharatiya Janata Party. BJP can also make him contest the Loksabha election in any one seat of Purvanchal.

Former minister Dara Singh Chauhan currently represents the Ghoshi assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Chouhan was a minister in the previous BJP government. Just before the assembly elections in 2022, he resigned from the BJP and joined the Samajwadi Party.

Dara Singh Chauhan’s influence is in 20 districts including Mau. He is counted among the big leaders of his society. He was the Forest and Environment Minister in the previous BJP government. Just before the assembly elections, he left BJP and joined Samajwadi Party.
