INS Chennai arrived at Jeddah port on operational turnaround

Indian Western Fleet’s frontline destroyer INS Chennai received a warm welcome on its arrival at Jeddah Port for an operational turnaround visit on Thursday. Indian Western Fleet flagship destroyer INS Chennai arrived at Jeddah port on an operational turnaround tour. Upon its arrival, the ship was warmly welcomed by Royal Saudi Naval Forces, Border Guards and Indian Embassy officials.

The Captain of INS Chennai was accompanied by the Defense Attache Colonel GS Grewal. He also interacted with the Jeddah Border Guards Commander and thanked him for all the support provided to the Indian vessels during the port call.

Consul General in Jeddah Mohammad Shahid Alam also visited the ship. They were briefed about the operational capabilities and were shown the onboard equipment of INS Chennai. The Consul General congratulated the captain and crew for their readiness. Alam wished INS crew a safe journey to India.

The Consul General in Jeddah tweeted, “CG @shahid_ifs IFS visited INS Chennai, which made a port call at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to return to India. CG extended his congratulations to the captain and crew.”
