Israel's Bold Move Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Lebanon

Jerusalem

Israel launched airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, according to military reports. Initial reports suggested a site near Aitaroun was struck in the Israeli attacks.

Hezbollah claimed it shelled five Israeli positions near the border with Lebanon.

Tensions have flared along the Israeli-Lebanese border due to an exchange of fire between Israeli forces and the Hezbollah group.

The Israeli airstrikes against the Gaza Strip have escalated following a Hamas attack on Israeli border towns, killing 2,808 Palestinians and over 1,400 Israelis.

Hezbollah has fought several wars with Israel, including a 2006 conflict where they struck major Israeli cities with rockets, causing significant damage and killing over 1,000 Lebanese.

The conflict has devastated much of southern Lebanon, a Hezbollah stronghold.
