At least 50 people were injured when 10 bogies of the Rawalpindi-bound Hazara Express overturned near Sahara railway station between Shahzadpur and Nawabshah in Pakistan. 15 dead bodies have been taken out in the rescue operation. The death toll may increase further. Police officials say that a large number of people were on board the train. This train was going from Karachi to Punjab when it met with an accident.

The Hazara Express train derailed between Shahzadpur and Nawabshah on Sunday when it was going from Karachi to Rawalpindi, Pak officials said. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), 15 people have died in the accident, while 50 have been injured. Those injured in the accident were shifted to the People’s Medical Hospital in Nawabshah.

Here, officials say that the reason behind the derailment is not yet known. Railway Divisional Superintendent Mahmudur Rahman said that the details are still being received. Police said rescue efforts are currently underway to evacuate the passengers from the bogies.
