Emirates Airlines has announced that passengers on some of its A380 flights may experience Wi-Fi and mobile connectivity interruptions due to a satellite issue beyond its control. The interruption could affect services on some of the flights. Emirates Skywards has allowed an additional 30,000 Economy Class passengers to access complimentary onboard Wi-Fi every week.

This increase in free connectivity has been well-received by Emirates passengers, with 450,000 average users per month in 2023, a 30% increase compared to the same period last year. The airline has invested over Dh1.1 billion ($300 million) into onboard connectivity so far. Emirates passengers can also purchase Wi-Fi plans during their flight, with the first package costing $2.99-5.99 and the second for the entire flight at $9.99-19.99.
