The Goa Police on Saturday arrested two accused in connection with the prostitution trade in the coastal state. Calangute police said that the accused have been arrested for allegedly forcing the victim girls into prostitution. Police have identified them as Mohd Shakeel Ahmed and Manji Singh of Hyderabad, who had accompanied the victims to Goa.
Police said that the main accused has been living in Goa for the last one and a half years with his wife and five-year-old son. “He had procured the girls from Punjab through his friend named Bhutta,” the police said. Earlier on July 6, police had rescued four victim girls from Vagator in North Goa who were forced into prostitution. Police are further investigating the matter.
