Russia called efforts made in Jeddah for peace in Ukraine futile

Russia has called the meeting of National Security Advisors of 40 countries in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for peace in Ukraine futile. On Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, the talks are completely pointless, as Russia was not included in them.

Keeping in mind the interests of Russia and without Russia’s participation, any such meeting would remain pointless. Along with this, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Russia is ready for diplomatic measures to end the war, provided any serious proposal is put forward. At the same time, China, which attended such a meeting for the first time, said contrary to Russia’s stand, Saudi Arabia’s effort was commendable and successful. Only such efforts will help build an international consensus for peace in Ukraine.

Li Hui, Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Special Envoy on Eurasian Affairs, said, “We held comprehensive consultations for a political solution to the Ukraine crisis, all parties listened patiently and pushed forward the path of international consensus to resolve the issue.”
