Russia launches attacks against Ukraine

Discussions are going on in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to find a peaceful solution to the Russia-Ukraine war and on the other hand, both countries are continuously attacking each other. At the same time, according to a report, Russia carried out rapid attacks on Ukraine in which it destroyed many drones of Ukraine. Russia says it has shot down a drone flying towards Moscow in the third such attack in a week.

According to the report, Russia carried out 70 drone and missile attacks on Ukraine. At the same time, Ukraine targeted two bridges connecting Crimea with the mainland. The Moscow-appointed chief said the Chonhar bridge on the peninsula was damaged by a missile strike. The bridge was snatched by Moscow from Ukraine in 2014.

Both countries have stepped up attacks on each other’s troops, weapons and infrastructure as Kyiv seeks to drive out Russian forces that have moved into southern and eastern Ukraine since last year’s invasion of Ukraine. Ukrainian drones attacked a Russian fuel tanker in the Black Sea near Crimea late on Friday. This was the second attack carried out by Ukrainian drones in the Black Sea.

Late on Saturday, Moscow and Kyiv attacked each other. A blood transfusion centre, a university and an aeronautics facility in Ukraine were damaged in the Russian attack. Moscow officials accused Ukraine of using cluster munitions to destroy a university in the Donetsk region, according to a report. The Donetsk region is currently under the control of Russian forces. At the same time, Ukrainian officials blamed Russia for the attack on the blood transfusion centre in the eastern city of Kupiansk (Kharkiv) on Saturday night.

Earlier, Ukraine had attacked a major Russian port on Friday itself. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russia strongly condemns the Ukrainian terrorist attack on a civilian vessel in the Kerch Strait. He said on the Telegram app that such barbaric acts cannot be justified in any way and those responsible will have to answer.

It said all 11 crew members on board the tanker are safe. Vladimir Rogov, a Russian official stationed in the southern Zaporizhzhya province that is partially controlled by Ukraine, said several crew members were injured by shattered glass in the drone strike. A Ukrainian security service official confirmed the attack on a tanker carrying oil for Russian forces. At the same time, Zelensky has condemned the attack on Ukraine.
