Armenian fighters in Nagorno Karabakh have started surrendering arms as humanitarian aid reaches 120,000 Armenians who believe the world has abandoned them after Azerbaijan defeated their forces. The Armenians of Karabakh, internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan, declared a ceasefire on September 20 after a 24-hour military operation by the larger Azerbaijani military. Russia, with around 2,000 peacekeepers in Karabakh, has handed over weapons and military equipment to the fighters. Russia has delivered over 50 tonnes of food and other aid, while the International Committee of the Red Cross has supplied 28,000 diapers, blankets, and fuel.
