In response to the drone attack in Moscow, Russia on Monday launched a missile attack on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s home town of Krivy Rih. Several buildings were heavily damaged in the attacks, and four people, including a ten-year-old girl, were killed. 43 people were also injured in the attack. Some more people are feared to be buried under the debris. President Zelensky posted videos of buildings destroyed in the attack on internet media.
In these videos, a nine-storey building is seen badly damaged while another four-storey building is seen turning into a pile of rubble. Zelensky said that residential areas and university buildings were attacked. Before the war, Krivi Rih was a city with a population of over six million. There are also reports of two missile attacks on the city of Kherson. The city was liberated from Russian occupation in November 2022 by the Ukrainian army.
