UAE announced fines for tourists visa overstay

Abu Dhabi

The UAE Digital Government, in partnership with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), announced on 5 August fines for overstaying expired residence or travel visas in the country. Under the new rules, 50 Dirhams will be added for each day after the visa expires.

Digital Government encouraged foreigners and tourists living in the country to access information on its website and the website of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai.

Online platforms provide comprehensive details regarding visa service charges, which also include the expenses related to visa issuance, extension and cancellation. Entry permit and visa applications can be submitted through the authority’s website, its smart application, the Dubai Now application and authorized printing centres.

Once the application is submitted and approved by these centres, an approval letter is issued to the applicant along with the original entry permit.
