In order to make obtaining a driving license easier and faster, the Vehicle and Driver Licensing Department of the Sharjah Police General Command has launched the ‘One-Day Test’ initiative. The new initiative, which started on July 11, will be active till the end of September.
The initiative targets National Service recruits as well as high school graduates. The move merged the “preliminary and city” driver’s license tests into one day, instead of requiring applicants to appear over multiple days.
The initiative is part of the Police’s efforts to enhance customer satisfaction and happiness. The move will help those looking for a new driver’s license faster, ensuring it can be done within one working day.
The service is divided into two levels – the electronic level and the in-person level. The first step is done electronically, without personal presence. This includes opening a file and attending theory classes for the issuance of a new driver’s license.
After passing the theory exam online, the applicant moves to the second stage, which involves practical training. After that, the final day of preliminary and civil examination will be conducted on the same day.
