Jeddah
Talks on the Ukraine crisis have concluded in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah. Participants called for continued international efforts to build a common ground for peace. Russia was not involved in the meeting.
It was chaired by Musa’ad bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Saudi Minister of State and National Security Adviser. It was attended by representatives of over 40 countries and international organisations, including the US, India, the European Union, China and the United Nations.
The participants stressed the importance of benefiting from the ideas and positive suggestions presented during the two-day (5-6 August) meeting, Xinhua news agency quoted the Saudi Press Agency as saying. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he expected a “peace summit” of world leaders, based on Ukraine’s support of a 10-point formula, The Guardian reported.
