The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for more than a year. Many countries are trying to calm this war between the two countries. In this sequence, discussions are going on in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah to find a peaceful solution to the Russia-Ukraine war. Despite this, both countries are continuously attacking each other. Meanwhile, it has emerged that Russia has carried out missile attacks in the city of Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine. Five people were killed and more than 30 were injured in the attack that targeted a residential building in the city.

Ukraine has condemned the attack. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Moscow attacked a simple residential building. They have also released footage of a Soviet-era five-storey building. The top floor of this building has been destroyed. Rescue operations are on after the attack. In his post, Zelensky wrote that the debris is still being cleared and that “search and rescue operations are ongoing.

He further said that we have to stop the Russian terror. Everyone in the world who helps Ukraine will defeat terrorists together with us. Russia will be held accountable for what it has done in this terrible war. Igor Klimenko, a minister of Ukraine, has also informed about these attacks on Telegram. He told that five people died in this. Meanwhile, a high-ranking emergency official from the Donetsk region was killed in the second attack. 31 people were injured in these attacks. These include 19 police officers, five rescue workers and a child. Explain that Pokrovsk is about 70 kilometres (43 miles) northwest of the Russian-occupied city of Donetsk.

Earlier, Moscow and Kyiv had attacked each other late on Saturday night. A blood transfusion centre, a university and an aeronautics facility in Ukraine were damaged in the Russian attack. Moscow officials accused Ukraine of using cluster munitions to destroy a university in the Donetsk region, according to a report. The Donetsk region is currently under the control of Russian forces. At the same time, Ukrainian officials blamed Russia for the attack on the blood transfusion centre in the eastern city of Kupiansk (Kharkiv) on Saturday night.

Earlier, Ukraine had attacked a major Russian port on Friday itself. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russia strongly condemns the Ukrainian terrorist attack on a civilian vessel in the Kerch Strait. He said on the Telegram app that such barbaric acts cannot be justified in any way and those responsible will have to answer.
