Venezuela recognizes the contribution of the BRICS group to global geopolitics and the democratization of international relations. Gil emphasized the need for a new model for global governance mechanisms, where the Global South has fair access to international financing.
He emphasized the need for a true and effective reform of the multilateral system in the financial sphere to fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals. He also highlighted the need to address debt, which is an essential problem for developing countries. He called for the eradication of neo-colonialist schemes of plunder and dependence.
