Wang Yi says BRICS system expansion is inevitable

Beijing

China and Russia have made significant progress in strategic coordination and practical cooperation since President Xi Jinping’s visit to Russia in March. Bilateral trade volume has reached a record level, energy cooperation is running smoothly, and people-to-people exchanges are on the rise.

China and Russia are good friends and partners, and the most important task is to continue implementing the important parity between the heads of state of the two countries. The BRICS mechanism is in line with the times, showing a vibrant force. More than 20 countries have expressed interest in participating in the mechanism, and China supports South Africa in holding an orderly summit with other BRICS members to promote the healthy and vibrant development of the BRICS system.

Russia is ready to implement the achievements made during President Xi’s visit to Russia in March. By strengthening contacts with China in multilateral frameworks such as the UN, BRICS, and SCO, Russia seeks to enhance the democratization of international relations and safeguard international justice and fairness. The two sides exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern, such as the Ukraine crisis. Putin is upset with the meeting held in Jeddah.
