Why not end Violence in West Bank, Israeli-Palestinian army clash

RAMALLAH, Palestine:

Israeli–Palestinian conflict: The Israeli Army killed a Palestinian terrorist and a civilian in an early morning clash on Monday. According to a statement issued by the Palestinian side, the conflict occurred when Israeli troops entered the occupied city in the West Bank. Samar Attiyeh, director of the Ibn Shina Hospital in Jenin, says that 21-year-old Samar Hoshiyeh was shot several times in the chest. Along with this, an ordinary citizen Fouad Abid has also died.

According to hospital officials, Abid was 17 years old, but a later statement issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Health gave him as 25 years old. Al-Aqsa Brigades, a terrorist group affiliated with President Mohammad Abbas’s Fatah party, has called Hoshiyeh a member in its statement. The brigade has published an old photo of Hoshiyeh in which he is seen holding a gun. A video on social media showed his dead body wrapped in the brigade’s flag. His mother and other mourners are also seen bidding him a final farewell.

The clash took place in Kafr Deen, near the city of Jenin. The Israeli army says they came into the city on Sunday. The army came to demolish the homes of two Palestinian gunmen in connection with the killing of their soldier in September. 2022 is the worst year for the West Bank and East Jerusalem since 2006. During this time the Israeli army attacked Palestinian cities almost daily and killed more than 150 people.

The Israeli army says most of those killed were terrorists. But youths who pelted stones to protest the intrusion and those who did not participate in the protest have also been killed. Israel annexed the West Bank and East Israel during the 1967 Middle East War, and the Palestinians want their state back.
