TEL AVIV
A female Member of Parliament (MP) in Israel’s parliament (Knesset) was stopped from giving a speech just because she had a newborn daughter in her arms. Although, the reason for this was the rules of Parliament, but now this incident has given rise to a new debate.
The name of the female MP is Shereen Heskell. According to Deputy Speaker Uriel Busso, only the MP can stand on the podium of Parliament, no one else should be with him. Due to this rule, Shereen could not put her point in front of the Parliament. Shereen is an MP from the National Unity Party.
This party is in opposition. Shereen wanted to introduce a bill and had already given notice for the same.
