Nepal always in favor of one-China policy

A meeting was held between the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, who is on an official visit to China, and the President of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Wang Hu Ning. President Timilsina, who is on an official visit to China, and the Chairman of the Consultative Conference, Hu Ningbich, met at the Great Hall of the People on Tuesday.

During the meeting, President Timilsina said that Nepal is always in favour of the One China policy and the future, Nepal will remain committed to the One China policy. “We are firmly committed to our policy and commitment not to allow any anti-Chinese activities by misusing Nepalese land,” he said.

Talking about the cordial and very close relationship between Nepal and China for centuries, Chairman Timilsina said that he is confident that the relationship between Nepal and China will become stronger in the coming years. Hu Ning, chairman of the consultative conference, said that China wants no anti-Chinese activities in Nepal. He said that visits will be exchanged at the political level of the two countries to strengthen the diplomatic relations between Nepal and China and said that China is ready to do friendly and mutually beneficial work with the neighbouring countries.

Before that, President Timilsina and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Chao Lijibich had a meeting at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing on Monday.

President Timilsina said that as a close friend and development partner and a good neighbour, Nepal has always given high importance and priority to the relationship with China and said that Nepal is always in favour of the one-China policy. Noting that the legislative relationship between Nepal and China has been expanding in recent days, President Timilsina expressed his happiness that China has recently placed Nepal in the Out Band Tourist Group, keeping in mind the role of tourism in the development of Nepal, as China is the second source country for tourism in Nepal.

Chairman Timilsina expressed confidence that the opening of Pokhara International Airport, which was built with China’s loan assistance, would make a significant contribution to Nepal’s tourism market.

In the meeting, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Liji informed that China is ready for an air flight from Chengdu to Pokhara. He informed us that the condition of Pokhara Regional International Airport and the Nepalese government has made all the necessary preparations, China is ready to start a direct flight between Chengdu and Pokhara from June 21.
